Lip Balm

Ingredients:

  • Beeswax
  • Shea butter
  • Coconut oil
  • Essential oil of the maker's choice
  • Lip balm container
  • Double boiler
  • Stovetop or hotplate

Recipe:

  1. Fill up the bottom pot of the double boiler with water approximately 2 inches high
  2. Place the second piece of the double boiler on top and turn heat to medium
  3. Melt 1 tbsp. of beeswax, 1 tbsp. of shea butter, and 1 tbsp. of coconut oil in the double boiler
  4. Stir until melted together (beeswax will take a while to melt)
  5. Turn off heat and add essential oils to your liking (15 drops of peppermint is a good start)
  6. Once added, fill up the 1 oz lip balm containers
  7. Let the lip balm cool for 1 hour to achieve the best results, but you can cap the containers earlier if needed
Lotion

Ingredients:

  • Almond Oil
  • Beeswax
  • Shea Butter
  • Coconut oil
  • Cornstarch
  • Essential oil of the maker's choice
  • Lotion container
  • Double boiler
  • Stovetop or hotplate

Recipe:

  1. Take out the hot plate and plug it in
  2. Fill up the bottom pot of the double boiler with water approximately 1 inch high
  3. Place the top part of the double boiler on top and turn heat to medium
  4. Melt ½ cup almond oil, ¼ cup beeswax, ¼ cup coconut oil, and 2 tbsp. of shea butter in the double boiler
  5. Stir until melted together (beeswax will take a while to melt)
  6. Add ¼ cup cornstarch and stir until combined
  7. Turn off heat and add essential oils to your liking (20 drops total is a good start)
  8. Once added, fill up the 4 oz lotion containers
  9. Let the lotion cool for 2 hours to achieve the best results, but you can cap the containers earlier if needed
Dryer Sheets

Ingredients:

  • White Vinegar
  • Fabric Squares
  • Non-metal container
  • Essential oil of the maker's choice

Recipe:

  1. Cut fabric squares out of old T-shirts from the Office or from the Free Store
  2. Put one or two fabric squares into the plastic bag or Tupperware
  3. Fill the container halfway with white vinegar
  4. Add five drops of any essential oil and shake it to mix

To Use:

  1. Grab a square out of the container and don’t wring it out
  2. Throw it in the dryer with your clothes
  3. Grab the square after use and put it back into the container
  4. Lasts until vinegar mix is all soaked up
Laundry Soap

Ingredients:

  • Washing Soda
  • Borax
  • Bar Soap

Recipe:

  1. Grate a ½ cup of bar soap with a cheese grater into small flakes
  2. Pour soap flakes into a plastic-lined bag or other airtight non-metal container
  3. Pour in ½ cup Borax and ½ cup washing soda and shake to mix

To Use: 

  1. Add 1 heaping tablespoon of laundry soap per load
  2. Lasts approximately 20 loads
Deodorant

Ingredients:

  • Baking Soda
  • Cornstarch
  • Coconut oil
  • Essential oil of the maker's choice
  • Mixing bowl
  • Microwave safe bowl (or stovetop/hotplate and double boiler)

Recipe:

  1. Add 1 tbsp. of baking soda and 2 tbsp. of cornstarch to a mixing bowl and stir to combine
  2. Add 7-10 drops of essential oils to the mixture
  3. Heat 1 tbsp. of coconut oil in the microwave until liquid
  4. Add the coconut oil to the baking soda and cornstarch mixture and stir until fully combined
  5. Pour into container (reuse an empty deodorant stick if possible!)
  6. Let the deodorant cool for 1 hour to achieve the best results, but you can cap the container earlier if needed
