Hannah Harrold

Sustainability Student Assistant

Bio

I am originally from Florida and moved up to Wisconsin in 2021, taking a gap year to get used to the change of location, environment, and people. I was able to learn more about the connection between sustainability organizations and historical places/landmarks, seeing the connection between the two and finding my interest in it. After taking this gap year, I joined UMD with an English and History double major and eventually was led to the Sustainability Organization on campus for an opportunity to work in their archives. This is how I joined the Office of Sustainability as an Archivist in the fall of 2023, using my skills and interests in documentation I look at their archives, organize what I see, digitize documents for better accessibility, and help with any research questions by finding the correct information someone needs. I hope to continue this work, helping make these past sustainable initiatives well-known and helpful to the office.
