UMD supports solar development in Minnesota and has purchased a 100 kilowatt block of solar of the Community Solar Garden built by Minnesota Power.
The 100 kilowatt block is located in Wrenshall, Minnesota and is located at Minnesota Power’s community solar garden.
Huge Addition
Through this purchase, we are supporting local solar projects in northern Minnesota as well as relying more on sustainable, clean, forms of energy. This purchase was a huge addition to the amount of solar energy produced from UMD, adding 100 kilowatts of off-campus generation to our on-campus production (see Bagley, Malosky, Oakland-Aspen arrays).
