Bio

I was born in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Growing up I loved making new discoveries whether it was through finding a new item at local thrift stores or discovering new scenic areas while picking up trash on walks by the Minnesota River. My interest in sustainability and the environment sparked while at my Grandma’s house in the countryside of Northern Minnesota. She had the coolest garden and some of my favorite memories are picking vegetables with her. She also introduced me to composting which is part of the reason why I am so passionate about compost today. I am a third year student here at UMD, majoring in Public Health and International Studies and minoring in Latin American Studies. I am passionate about compost and keeping our natural land clean. I am also a strong advocate of the motto “Healthy Planet, Healthy People” and examining how the environment impacts one’s quality of life. Along with my position at the Office of Sustainability, I am also a Sustainability Student Ambassador for Dining Services.
